Paco Roca
Paco Roca (Valencia, 1969) started working in advertising and ended up creating an illustration studio in his home city. This is his sixth graphic novel with Astiberri, following the Lighthouse, Wrinkles (National Comic Prize 2008), The Streets of Sand, Emotional World Tour in collaboration with Miguel Gallardo, the creator of María and I (Catalunya National Comic Prize 2008) and The Illustrator’s Winter, which won prizes for best script and best work in the Barcelona Comic Salon 2011. Wrinkles has been adapted for the cinema using classic animation.
Awards:
Paco Roca won the National Comic Prize 2008 for Wrinkles, and prizes for best script and best work in the Barcelona Comic Salon 2011 with The Illustrator’s Winter. Memories of a Man in Pyjamas has been nominated for best national work at the Barcelona Comic Salon 2012.
