The Blue Nile provides over half the volume of water flowing from the Nile into the Mediterranean. Nevertheless, almost nothing is known about the basin it flows from, the people who live next to it, the adventures it has had. Javier Gozálbez set himself the challenge of discovering what lies beneath this silence and, like the explorers of old, he started at its source in Ethiopia. He then followed the course of the river until he reached Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, where the river merges with its brother, the White Nile. Over several journeys, the author gradually covered successive stages, stopping in the places that interested him, whether they were situated on both sides of the river basin or along its actual course.
