The first "air stations" were small hangars - some even made of canvas - or modest structures designed to shelter passengers from inclement weather. With the passing of time it became necessary to construct more solid, functional buildings, so that the growing number of passengers could enjoy greater comfort, and the transported cargo and post would have reception and storage space. Since then, the evolution of these facilities has undergone great changes which run parallel with the development of new technologies and the architectural trends of each era. This book offers us a tour of the architecture and operations of these terminal buildings.
