El dia revolt. Literatura catalana de l’exili collects together forty-two studies written by Julià Guillamon about the children of the 1939 Catalan exodus in France, Argentina, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Venezuela and Mexico.
In this book, the story of exile is told from an unusual point of view, using the personal experiences of the exiled. An exhaustive research has allowed the author to bring together more than five hundred images from photo albums and family archives, which show how the Catalan exiles lived during different times and in different places, like Peron’s Argentina, the Cuba of Fidel Castro or, right now, in Hugo Chávez’s Venezuela
