Wamba is an eleven-year-old captive boy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He and his family are constantly controlled by soldiers who force them to work in the dangerous coltan mines, a highly-prized mineral in the first world. Wamba's parents are hit the hardest when their son is snatched from them to be recruited by a guerrilla group which will turn him into a real boy soldier. During his time with the rebels, pain and blood become his closest companions. He sees things he will always wish he had never seen and commit atrocious acts he will never forget Over time we see how Wamba struggles to overcome despite the adversities he is faced with along the way. His only aim is to find a better world where freedom exists...
