Dolores Payás

Dolores Payás was born in the province of Barcelona but soon broadened her horizons. She lived in Mexico for several years, where she worked as a television scriptwriter and accompanying pianist in singing and dance schools (although she did go on tour with a group of mariachis). She currently splits her time between Beijing and Barcelona, but also spends long periods in Greece, England and Switzerland. Payás is an autodidact and her interests are wide-ranging. She loves languages, literature and music. She adores old houses, gardening and cooking. She has written for cinema and has directed two feature-length films. She is also a translator and occasionally publishes cultural articles.
