The action takes place in three days and recreates the adventures of Pelai Puig Alosa and Ginés Jordi Martigalà, who represent the two extremes of the humanity struggling in that great city, in which poets, businessmen, the president of the Generalitat, the bitter breath of the Civil War all swarm together. Between these two spheres, the novel deals with passions, the political fight, the economic and ideological tension that are unleashed when a suburb sinks.
