Lluisa Sallent

Luisa Sallent was born in the town of Ripollet on the 12th of December 1934. The difficult circumstances of her childhood, in the post-war period, led her to free herself from a closed and repressive environment and to show her independent character from an early age. She became known as a painter and sculptor in 1980 and today her works form part of prestigious public and private collections, such as the Lausanne Olympic Museum the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Barcelona Palau de la Música. A multifaceted artist, she has also written her memoirs in Vidas y apariencias (Planeta). She now surprises us with the fictionalised biography of the painter Mariano Fortuny i Marsal.
