Some retired artistes cross Europe in a bus, fleeing from the Nazi police. Berlin, 1945. An Allied bombing raid destroys the Artists House where great figures of the world of performance live in retirement. Juan Carlos Barrachina, considered to be the best trapeze artist in the world, is the only young man there when the catastrophe occurs and he takes the decision to flee to Spain with the seventeen survivors.
