In July 2009 Leo Margets became famous after achieving glory in Las Vegas when she was crowned best female poker-player in the world. Leo is a living example of how poker has changed from being an almost underground game, associated with people of dubious reputation, to a mass phenomenon where legendary players compete for prizes worth millions, demonstrating their skill and strategy. Nevertheless, in Spain poker is still seen as a mere game of luck, more or less like roulette or the lottery. But this game currently moves astronomical sums of money and is inciting genuine passions with the explosion of online gaming and highly-trained players such as Leo Margets, an economics graduate from the University of London, expert in emotional intelligence and with a wide knowledge of maths and psychology.
