Carlos Salem

Carlos Salem was born in Buenos Aires, grew up in Neuquen and has lived in Spain since 1988. He has written novels that have won such important prizes as the Silverio Cañada de la Semana Negra de Gijón, the Premio Novelpol, the Premio Paris Noir, the Mandarache Prize for encouraging reading in young people… He has also published collections of short stories and poems, and the play, El torturador arrepentido (The Repentant Torturer, 2011). Several of his books have been translated into French, German and Italian. He teaches at the Centro de Formación in Madrid and gives workshops on fiction in Spain and Switzerland, in addition to doing novel evaluations by video conferences in various countries.
