Nico the Spy and the Ingenious Cervantes
Pilar Lozano Carbayo loves words. She likes to write them, say them, check their meaning, read them, play with them, make up stories... that's why she chose journalism as her profession and literature as her hobby. She has worked for newspapers, magazines and in television. She is currently editor-in-chief of the magazine «Vía Libre», and writes children's books whenever she has the time. She won the Premio de Literatura Infantil Barco de Vapor 2005 for "Siete reporteros y un periódico" ("Seven Reporters And A Newspaper"), which has also been translated into Korean and Italian. In 2007 she was awarded the Premio Edebé de Literatura Infantil for "¡No es tan fácil ser niño!" ("It's Not That Easy Being A Kid!"). "Marco Polo no fue solo" ("Marco Polo Was Not Alone") won the Premio Lazarillo in 2010. She is also the author of the highly amusing "Serie Manu, detective" ("Manu, Detective series") books, published as part of the Altamar collection.
