Confessions to the Psychoanalyst
Izara Batres (Madrid, 1982) is a recognised writer and poet, Dr. of Literature, contributor to various print media and teacher of creative writing. The publishing house Siruela awarded a prize to her essay in the "Mundo de Sofía"(December 16, 2004) and she won El País's First Prize in the EP3 short story "Talents" competition (30th November 2007). She has been a finalist in a number of international prizes. She has, furthermore, published two books of poetry, Avenidas del tiempo (Avenues of Time; Vitruvio, 2009) and El fuego hacia la luz (The Fire Toward the Light; Sial, 2011), plus the award winning book of short stories and humour, Confesiones al psicoanalista (Xorki, 2013). With the same publisher, in 2014, she published her last two books: the essay Cortázar y París: Último round (Cortázar and Paris: Last Round), and the novel ENC o el sueño del pez luciernaga (ENC or the Dream of the Firefly Fish). Interviews with her have appeared in such media organs as Cadena SER, Radio Nacional de España and El País.
