The Winter We Took Things Into Our Own Hands
Ángeles Doñate still has the Christmas cards she and her school friends sent one another, along with love letters where the sender's name is no longer legible and other letters sent from the four corners of the globe. Some of the most important events of her life are marked by letters, like her father's illness or the time she spent studying away from home. This story is born from her love for the written word and belief in the happiness it can bring. A journalist by training and vocation, Ángeles Doñate has combined her work for newspapers and magazines with teaching and work in institutional communication, always in the educational and social fields. Her published books include "¿Quieres un consejo?" ("Do You Want A Piece Of Advice?"), "Cuando la cigüeña se pierde" ("When the Stork Gets Lost") and the novel "La sonrisa de un perro" ("A Dog's Smile"), co-written with Maribel Vila and published by Ediciones B.
