Laura McGloughlin has been a freelance translator from Spanish and Catalan since completing a Masters in Literary Translation at the University of East Anglia. Her translations include Lluisa Cunillé’s play, The Sale (Parthian, 2008), Stone in a Landslide by Maria Barbal (Peirene, 2010), The Island of Last Truth by Flavia Company (Europa, 2012) and Toni Hill’s Salgado crime novels The Summer of Dead Toys (Doubleday, 2012) and The Good Suicides (2013). She is a reader for various UK publishing houses and an occasional assessor for English Pen’s Pen Translates programme. In addition to her freelance work, she is a commercial manager and buyer for Waterstones Booksellers.
