The Minutes Thief
David Lozano Garbala (Zaragoza, 1974) studied Law, with a Masters in Communication and studies in Spanish Language and Literature. He combines writing and teaching with his work as a scriptwriter for several Spanish production companies. In 2006 he won the 28th Gran Angular prize for children's literature for his novel Donde surgen las sombras (Where Shadows Rise) which was published in six countries. In 2014 he was a finalist for the Hache prize with Herejía (Heresy) and and finalist for the Edebé prize for children's literature with El ladrón de minutos (The Minutes Thief), which was published in 2016. He is the author of the gothic fantasy trilogy La Puerta Oscura (El Viajero, El mal, Requiem, 2008-2009) (The Dark Gate Trilogy: The Traveller, The Evil, Requiem, 2008-2009) published in Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Italy and Germany. Cinema rights for this series have been acquired by a leading Spanish production company. His most recent novels are Cielo Rojo (Red Sky), Herejía (Heresy) (both with SM, 2011 and 2013) and Hyde (Alfaguara, 2014)
