The German poet Rainier Maria Rilke used to say that childhood is our only homeland. He also used to say that there are no beginners lessons in life because we are immediately expected to perform advanced tasks. Fede, the protagonist of this story, is a child born in 1960s rural Spain, which is recovering from the shock of its inhabitants deciding en masse to exercise their right to build themselves a prosperous future in the big, cosmopolitan city where everything happens. Fede isn't that close to his father. There's something disturbing and mysterious. In the city Fede doesn't seem to be the victim of this voracious appetite to be loved that we all, without exception, seem to experience. He finds pleasure and enjoys it. An unexpected meeting opens up new horizons for him when he least espects it. Will Fede learn to feel "True Love" in the joyful years of the eighties? What is true love? Can we forgive and forget...?
