Anatomy of the Memory
Eduardo Ruiz Sosa was born in Culiacan, Mexico, in 1983 and has lived in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona) since 2006. He studied Industrial Engineering and holds a PhD in History of Science. he is currently in his final year of a PhD in Spanish literature. In 2007 he won the Premio Inés Arredondo national literature prize with his book 'La voluntad de marcharse ' ('The Will to Leave') (FondoEditorial Tierra Adentro, 2008). His shorter works have appeared in various anthologies: 'A fin de cuentos' ('At the End of the Story'), 'La letra en la Mirada' ('The Letter in the Gaze'), 'Renovigo', 'Siete caminos de sangre' ('Seven Bloody Paths') and 'Emergencias, doce cuentos iberoamericanos' ('Emergencies, Twelve Ibero-American Stories') (Candaya 2013). Together with other writers, he coordinates the online magazine www.lajuntadecarter.com. In 2012 he won the first Han Nefkens Creative Writing Grant, which allowed him to study for a Masters in Creative Writing at Pompeu Fabra University and spend a year writing 'Anatomía de la memoria' ('Anatomy of the Memory')
