The Lowest Limit
Nere Basabe was born in Bilbao in 1978, and has a diploma from the Strasbourg Institute of Political Studies, and a degree in philosophy and political science and PhD in history of political thinking from Madrid Complutense University. She specialises in French intellectual history of the nineteenth century, and was a researcher for two years at Sciences-Po Paris. She is currently a researcher and lecturer at Madrid Complutense University, and is the author of the novel Clara Venus (Tropo Editores, 2008), a historical novel about Baudelaire’s Paris. She runs creative writing workshops, translates from French, and writes film and literary reviews online. She works with El País newspaper, and in 2014 her work From Empire to Federation: The Idea of Europe and Projects for Continental Union, 1814−1848" (L’Harmattan) was published in France.
