Miss Fifty
Rosa Ribas was born in El Prat de Llobregat, near Barcelona, in 1963, and has lived in Germany since 1991. She has a PhD in Hispanic philology and in 2006 she published her first historical novel, The Flanders Painter. Barely a year later she published the first in the crime series, Between Two Waters, with Spanish-German police commissioner Cornelia Weber-Tejedor. The series continued with Advertisement (2009), In Free Fall (2011), and If Not, We’ll Kill Him (2016). In 210 she published The Miopic Detective, and in 2012 she began publishing chapters of the novel Miss Fifty on the website Sigueleyendo, which no longer exists. The online chapters featured illustrations by Clàudia de Puig, and the published version is illustrated by María Espejo. Ribas has also written two crime novels with German author Sabine Hoffman, Gift of Tongues (2013) and The Big Chill (2014), with principal character Ana Martín.
