Cosmo, the main character of this story, is a bon vivant, an attractive man whose life has lessened his attractions. An episode of cardiac arrhythmia takes him to the emergency department of a hospital where, due to being mistaken for the head of a drug cartel, he is on the verge of being murdered. Four shots ring out in room 356, but instead of killing him, they wake him from his dream apathy and ease. A hymn to life, because no one can be certain of living a year longer.
