Finding a husband in three weeks in order to make a dream come true might seem difficult… Madrid 1640. The actress Elisa Villanueva has the chance to fulfil one of her dreams: to appear on stage at the opening of El Coliseo, the theatre Felipe IV has had built in the Buen Retiro palace. But her single status is a obstacle, and she has only three weeks to find a husband. She decides to confide in Catalina de Velasco in the hope that her gift as a matchmaker will fulfil another of her dreams: to find the love of her life. Catalina suggests various possibilities, which eventually lead them to Juan Morales, a rogue from Lavapiés. Juan decides to help them, with the intention of later making himself scarce as there is no room for honourable people in his life of crime. However, the attraction he feels for Elisa makes that task difficult, as do Catalina's machinations.
