Every book is a journey, that's what José Luis Muñoz always says when he talks about the ones he's written, many of which have taken shape during his journeys over five continents. 'La manzana helada' ('The Frozen Apple') is also a homage to New York, one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and has two main characters: Martin Eden, who arrives in this frozen apple in winter, and his rather special guide, Marc Emmerich, who shows him little known parts of the megalopolis. The fictionalised version of a journey and a critical look at society and the self in pages full of love for cinema, and art in general, in which the author plays with self-fiction and reflects on the meaning of literature and of life.
