The Wound
Jorge Fernández Díaz is a writer and journalist. For 35 years he was, by turns, a crime reporter, an investigative journalist, a political analyst, a news editor and a magazine editor. He is currently one of the lead columnists for Argentine newspaper La Nación. Among his publications are El dilema de los próceres (The Case of the National Heroes), Mamá (Mama) Fernández, Corazones desatados (Wild Hearts) La segunda vida de las flores (The Second Life of Flowers), La logia de Cádiz (The Cadiz Lodge) (Planeta 2008), La hermandad de honor (The Honourable Brotherhood) (Planeta 2010) Alguien quiere ver muerto a Emilio Malbrán (Someone Wants Emilio Malbrán Dead) and Las mujeres más solas del mundo (The Loneliest Women in the World). His last novel El puñal (The Dagger) has been on best seller lists for more than a year, was published in Spain and Latin America and will soon be filmed by the director Marcelo Piñeyro. In 2012 the King of Spain conferred on him the Cruz de la Orden de Isabel la Católica, and in 2017 he was received into the Academia Argentina.
