Santiago Elordi (Santiago de Chile, 1960) is a poet, writer and documentary maker. He was the founder and editor of the 'Noreste' newspaper, a cultural reference for a generation which served as a bastion against the military dictatorship and a lesson in creative discourse. In 1997 he won a grant to go to New York, where he established close relationships with poets and artists working in different fields. In 2005 he travelled to Brazil with the painter Kate Macdonald following the route taken by an explorer who disappeared in 1929 and this trip provided material for the documentary 'Punto Z' ('Point Z'). In 2015 he formed VPS, a collective which has presented work at the Venice Biennale and at festivals in Valparaíso and Berlin.
