Pandora's camera. Photography after photography
Joan Fontcuberta (Barcelona, 1955) is a photographer, critic and professor. As well as his prolific photographic work, he has undertaken important roles as essayist, editor and commissioner, responsible for initiatives such as the founding in 1980 of the magazine Photovision and the co-founding in 1982 of Primavera Fotográfica in Barcelona, as well as being artistic director in 1996 of the Arles Internationl Festival of Photography. He has also been a professor at various European and North American universities and centres, and currently teaches audiovisual communication studies at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
