Pereyra Iraola, the headmaster, has died under strange circumstances. Kuchirski, the highly gifted student who can't stand being a child; the caretaker, a former star of Uruguayan football; Marta the organiser of the illegal football pool who has mafia connections; Goyeneche, the school counsellor, who has a wooden leg and is an amazing tango singer; they are all linked by a dark history with Iraola that stimulates the criminal imagination. All are humorously and sharply presented. Each reader will choose their prime suspect for the crime and will have to read to the surprising end to fully understand everything.
