Benjamin is a young sperm whale who lives near an island and loves to jump, sing and recite poetry. Benjamin wants to be like the dolphins who are the only ones who normally do this. But however hard Benjamin tries, only his friend Minerva, who is actually very clever in spite of what the others say, listens to him and smiles at him. One day, Benjamin falls ill from sadness and all the seagulls, guillemots, the mice in their nests and even the bats in their caves are very worried. With the help of Benjamin´s friend Minerva they hatch a plan to make Benjamin a happy and contented sperm whale once again. A lovely story from Paula Carballeira which aims to promote values such as respect for differences, diversity, tolerance, solidarity, helping those in need, accepting others (and ourselves) just as we are, and believing in everybody´s abilities and development.
