Beatriz Dapena y Álex Menédez

The author was born in Sevile in June 1972. She has a degree in fine arts from Seville and has had her oil paintings exhibited in Seville and, more recently, in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, where she won various painting prizes. She continues to paint in oils. She decided to expand her artistic training and lived in Wales for five years, during which time she earned a degree in illustration from the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education. She was also awarded a prize at the annual New Designers exhibition. She later returned to Spain, where she lives currently. She has shown her work in exhibitions in El Escorial and in Madrid at venues such as the Sala Pons, Serrano etc. She eventually came into contact with Ediciones Jaguar, with whom she published her first picture book, 'Mi papá es el mejor' ('My Daddy is the Best') in collaboration with Alex Meléndez, which was followed by 'Tú y yo' ('You and Me').
