Modern Architecture in Seismic Zones
Teresa Guevara graduated as an architect from the Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela in 1972 and has a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Construction from the Architectural Association, England (1975), a Masters in Architecture (1986) and did postgraduate studies in Architecture (1989), specialising in Seismic-resistant Building at the University of California, Berkeley. She has worked as a researcher in the field of public housing and as an independent consultant on the architecture of seismic-resistant structures, the vulnerability of hospitals, urban configurations in seismic zones, and earthquake disaster limitation. She edited and contributed to the collection of reports and papers presented at the International Course on the protection of Heritage in Earthquake Zones (Venezuela, 1999) and is the author of various papers and articles, published in specialist magazines.
