Multi-sensory classrooms in special needs education
María del Carmen Gómez Gómez (Salamanca, 1979) studied special needs education, speech-language & hearing, and children's education, and has a degree in pedagogy. She also has a Master's degree in the education of people with sensory disabilities. She has worked as a special needs teacher and speech-language therapist in the counselling & guidance department of the Colegio Marista La Inmaculada in Lugo. She is currently preparing her doctoral thesis on the theory and history of education and works at the Colegio Nuestra Señora del Rosario (La Gande Obra de Atocha), where she holds the posts of guidance counsellor, special needs & speech-language teacher, and provides support to profoundly deaf students.
