Everything Burns
Nuria Barrios is an author with a PhD in philosophy. She has written the novels 'El alfabeto de los pájaros' ('The Birds' Alphabet', 2011) and 'Amores patológicos' ('Pathological Loves', 1998), the short story collections 'Ocho centímetros' ('Eight Centimetres', 2015), 'El zoo sentimental' ('The Sentimental Zoo', 2000) and 'Balearia' (2000), and the poetry collections 'La luz de la dinamo' ('The Light of the Dynamo', 2017, winner of the Premio Iberoamericano de Poesía Hermanos Machado), 'Nostalgia de Odiseo' ('Odysseus's Nostalgia', 2012) and 'El hilo de agua' ('The Trickle of Water', 2004, winner of the Premio Ateneo de Sevilla). Her short stories have featured in numerous anthologies, most recently 'Tsunami, miradas feministas' ('Tsunami; Feminist Gazes'). She is also a regular contributer to El Pais newspaper's literary supplement. Her journalism has been recognised by the Fundación Mastia.
