The Calligrapher was sure that beyond the valley and the mountains there were other valleys and other mountains and he dreamed of telling each the stories of the other. So, one day, instead of sitting at his desk he bundled up four things and set off into the thick forest. This is how the Calligrapher began his travels and how the people learned that they weren't alone. This is a poetic picture book that speaks not only of the experience of travelling but also about the emotions that overcome us before each journey begins: the desire for adventure, the self transformation, the capacity to know how to embrace the other and to be well received... It doesn't just talk about the journeys we make across the world every day but also those that we make through words, images and imagination.
