Born in Zaragoza more than half a century ago he is a Pisces. When he was little he wanted to be an architect. When he grew up he wanted to be a theatre actor. In the middle he studied Law and in the end opted to become a writer. He decided this on 20th February 1985 at 9:15 pm, when he got a call telling him that "El Zulo" [The Hideout], his first novel had won the Gran Angular Prize. Since then he's dedicated himself exclusively to writing. He's published over a hundred books, he has two and a half million readers and has won quite a few prizes. Amongst these are the National Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature. His most well-known work is "Morirás en Chafarinas" [You'll Die in Chafrinas] which was adapted for cinema in a film directed by Pedro Olea starring Jorge Sanz and María Barranco. Lalana is married and has two daughters who don't want to become writers.
