Among the consequences of the Spanish Civil War, which ended in Republican defeat, was the exile of a large number of intellectuals and creatives. The new situation of the countries that received them did not mean for the exiles a total break with what remained behind, but nor did it allow them quickly to consolidate their unity. The aim of this book is to analyze the correspondence and interrelations generated between Republican exiles in the creative and reflective fields of art, literature and philosophy, in their diverse places and scenes of transit or settlement. This goal meant adopting a new approach to the exile seventy years later and contributing in a scientific way to the analysis and better understanding of our recent historic memory.
