B Novel
Mónica Bustos was born in Asunción (Paraguay) in 1984. She began writing when she was nine and after the publication of her first novel, "León muerto" (Dead Lion), at eighteen she went on to publish a book of short stories, "Complejo de Bustos" (Bustos Complex) in 2004. In 2008 she participated in the creation of an anthology of stories, "La cuestión es sencilla" (The Question is Simple). Her second novel, "Chico Bizarro y las moscas" (Chico Bizarro and the Flies), was published by Alfaguara in 2010 and won the Augusto Roa Bastos Prize for fiction and became one of the best-selling books of the year in Paraguay. In 2013, she published "Novela B" (Novel B), this little treasure from the B-movie tradition which has now been republished by Obscura Editorial.
