Borja is a translator for an international company in New York, where he lives with his partner John. One night he gets a call from a forgotten cousin to tell him his brother has just died and left him something. Many years ago in the nineties, Borja left the Basque Country to cut ties with a family and a country poisoned by hate and a lack of understanding. In the United States he has pulled up his roots and buried his past to become a new person, who can live a new present with freedom and a new language. But one call may be enough to bring it all down. Suddenly the black sheep of a wretched family is the sole inheritor of an abandoned house overlooking the sea from the heights of the village of Algorta.
