Borja is a translator for an international company in New York, where he lives with his partner John. One night he gets a call from a forgotten cousin to tell him his brother has just died and left him something. Many years ago in the nineties, Borja left the Basque Country to cut ties with a family and a country poisoned by hate and a lack of understanding. In the United States he has pulled up his roots and buried his past to become a new person, who can live a new present with freedom and a new language. But one call may be enough to bring it all down. Suddenly the black sheep of a wretched family is the sole inheritor of an abandoned house overlooking the sea from the heights of the village of Algorta. And only he can reopen the door and decide what to do with all those years of pain and silence.
