The Black Crypt
Juan Ramón Barat (Valencia, 1959) is an aficionado of all literary genres, he has been awarded many prizes and received recognition as a poet, playwright and novelist. In terms of his prose, his historical novels stand out: "1707, el sueño perdido" (1707, the Lost Dream), set in the War of Succession and "Jaime I el rey templario" (James I, the Templar King), which uses the early middle ages as its backdrop. He received the City of Salamanca International Prize for his novel "Infierno de neón" (Neon Hell). Young readers awarded him the 2014 Hache Prize for best young-adult novel for his book "Deja en paz a los muertos" (Leave the Dead in Peace); its sequel is "La sepultura 142" (Sepulcre 142). Both of these books were punlished in the Paralelo Cero collection.
