I'm Coming Home
Joan Carreras (Barcelona 1962) has won the Saint Jordi and Ciutat de Barcelona prizes. A journalist, scriptwriter and teacher, Carreras began his literary career with two story collections published by Quaderns Crema, in 1991 and 1993 respectively. After that he published two novels - La gran nevada (The Great Snowfal) and Qui va matar el Floquet de Neu (Who Killed Snowflake) with Empúries and the provocative L'hombre de origami (The Origami Man) with Ara Libres. Since 2012 Proa has published his novels Carretera secundaria (Minor Road, best Catalan book of the year, according to Time Out magazine), Café Barcelona (set in Amsterdam, reprinted several times and winner of the Ciutat Barcelona 2013 prize), L'Aguila negra (Black Eagle), winner of the Saint Jordi, the most prestigious prize for Catalan Literature, and La dona del Cadillac (The Cadillac Woman), a gripping thriller. I'm Coming Home is his most unusual novel yet, a splendid narrative exercise.
