Antonio is eight years old and dreams of being a real-life cowboy and that John Wayne, his hero from the films is going to come to Santiago de Compostela to take him to the Wild West. One day, he finds a photo of Freckled Jim, a cowboy his own age, and decides to become him. However, this is not an easy mission, although fighting for your dreams always has big rewards. This is a homage to childhood, to family, friends, imagination and good old fashioned games. It is a gentle and amusing call to enjoy the small things of life and to know how to be happy with what you have. Set in Galicia in the 1950's the reader will discover a world where consumerism has no place and which contrasts hugely with the modern world. A novel to share with parents and grandparents who, without doubt, will find something to identify with.
