Violeta Monreal

Violeta Monreal was born in Oviedo, Spain. After graduating in Fine Art, she began her career as an illustrator. She travelled to New York where she worked on various illustration projects for the United Nations. Since then, she has illustrated a great number books for Spain’s most important publishers, including many that she wrote herself. Some of her books have also been published in the United States, Japan, South Korea, France, Portugal, Italy and Greece as well as in several Latin American countries. Alongside her work as an illustrator and author of stories, she also works as a lecturer in children's drawings, participating in various conferences and running workshops for specialist institutions, local businesses and schools.
