Mysterious murders, corrupt sherrifs, evangelical missionaries, delusions of persecution… Dark and disquieting, Tú me has matado is the first comic by David Sánchez, partially published in the magazine El Manglar (Dibbuks), keeping more than one reader up all night. Close to the atmosphere created by Lynch, Burns or Clowes, Sánchez has put his name to a disturbing, provocative debut, at once captivating and discomforting. With regards to the comic's origins, Sánchez admits he is a fan of American music from the 50s and 60s, and that this was an important source of inspiration for setting the scene of the book. His immediate environment also proved conducive to the creation of some of his characters: he has said that his neighbours are Mormons from America, and that one day some Jehovah's witnesses knocked at his door to give him some leaflets, which suddenly aroused his imagination…
