Does capitalism have a future? If so, what is it? After the current economic recession, will there be others, perhaps worse? What possibility is there for a different economic order taking its place? How likely is it to collapse? If, instead of this occurring, it evolves without collapse into something different to what is has been up to now, what will the new face of the world look like? What will the political, environmental and cultural repercussions of such a change be? What ill become of opulence capitalism has created for some and of the poverty it has engendered for others? Will humanity be able to tame a rationale of uncontrolled development that, as it destroys our environment, leads us towards the abyss, and towards the irreparable damage of its own future?
