A novel that takes place in the historical setting of the Sahara's decolonisation (1970-1975). A novelistic essay that is a blend of reality and fiction, the work as such cannot be taken as a faithful reflection of historical events. In the cases where Julián Delgado uses the names of real people, the events are historical, whether collected by the sources consulted or by way of testimonies collected by the author himself. The fictitious characters are a faithful reflection of the protagonists of this historical event, and have been made as true-to-life as possible, taking into account Delgado's personal experiences in this ex-Spanish territory and the testimonies of comrades who experienced these occurrences first-hand.
