For its current relevance and its contents, 25 preguntas sobre el cambio climático, is a book of unquestionable value, since climate change has already been recognized as the major environmental problem that humanity must face from now on. Some of its manifestations (mean rise in temperatures, heat waves, sudden weather changes, more intense meteorological phenomena, melting of glaciers) are already evident, and both professionals and the general public must be aware of them with clarity and rigour, as they constitute one of the most outstanding features of our age.
The chapters of the book have been ordered didactically as questions, starting with the basic concepts of the greenhouse effect and climate change (what they are, the gases which cause them, under what circumstances they appear, what their consequences are), later analyzing their global impact and paying particular attention to the consequences for our environment, and concluding with practical recommendations on how to mitigate them, since, like with most environmental problems, there are solutions if we act in time, both as individuals and collectively.
The book has five annexes which include in detail recent climatic anomalies, predictions, meteorological phenomena like “El Nino” and the commitments the Kyoto Protocol requires, in addition to a glossary, bibliography and additional contacts
