Love and War
Núria Amat is a novelist, poet and essayist. Born in Barcelona where she still lives, her literary output written in Spanish covers a long career and has been translated into a dozen languages, with titles such as 'Todos somos Kafka' (1993), 'La intimidad' (1997),' El país del alm'a (1999), 'Reina de América' (2001, Premio Ciutat de Barcelona 2002) and 'Deja que la vida llueva sobre mí' (2008). Amat is also the author of several collections of short stories, including 'Monstruos' (1991) and 'El siglo de las mujeres' (2000).
As a poet, she is the author of 'Amor infiel' (2004) and 'Poemas impuros' (2008). Her most recent essay is called 'Escribir y callar' (2010). Awarded the Ramon Llull Prize, her work 'Amor i guerra' marks her debut as a novelist in Catalan.
