Seve Calleja's (Zamora, 1953) literary life began with poetry and stories for adults. He was a member of the poetry collective Zurgai, winning the Ignacio Aldecoa short story prize in 1981. Although he has never stopped writing books for 'older people', for which he has won several awards such as the accésit del Pío Baroja for the novel and the Gabriel Aresti short story prize, he now devotes himself to literature for young people, and spends most of his time and effort as a reader, researcher and teacher in this area, as well as author. He lives in Bilbao, where he teaches literature at a college.
