Ángel Viñas

Ángel Viñas has been professor of Economics since 1975 and a government commercial and economics expert since 1968. His latest works are “En las garras del águila. Los pactos con Estados Unidos, de Francisco Franco a Felipe González (1945-1995)” (In the Eagle’s Claws. Pacts with the US from Francisco Franco to Felipe González 1945-1995, Crítica, 2003), “La soledad de la República. El oro de España, la apuesta soviética y los hechos de mayo de 1937” (The Shield of the Republic. Spanish Gold, the Soviet Gamble and the Events of 1937, Crítica 2007), “El honor de la República. Entre el acoso fascista, la hostilidad británica y la política de Stalin” (The Honour of the Republic. Fascist Aggression, British Hostility and the Policy of Stalin, Crítica 2008) and, with Fernando Hernández, “El desplome de la República” (The Fall of the Republic, 2009). We should also mention, as a fruit of his diplomatic activity “Al servicio de Europa. Innovación y crisis en la Comisión Europea” (In the Service of Europ. Innovation and Crisis in the European Union, 2005).
