Arthur is the chicken felt uncomfortable inside his egg.

Inside the shell, Arthur felt safe, but very squashed. He no longer fitted into this warm room with white walls, so he had no option left but to leave it. He then discovered that he inhabited a very small part of an enormous and unknown world which opened out in front of his surprised and curious eyes.

It also reflects on the tenderness and protective instinct which the figure of the protagonist arouses in adult readers, defenceless against all that surrounds him, and facing a long process of learning.
