José Ángel de la Riva García (Sotrondio, Asturias, 1969) is a technical lecturer in professional training in restaurant services for the Consejería de Educación del Principado de Asturias, an expert in Public Service for State Employment for occupational training in the hotel trade and teaches a great number of courses on wine service and the training of waiters for the restaurant, bar and cafeteria. He has also volunteered in the Centro de Iniciativas Solidaridad y Empleo since 2004, where he teaches various courses for people with difficulties in accessing the labour market.
His ample knowledge of viniculture has lead him to act as editor of the gastronomy web page ‘Directo al paladar’, where he writes as an expert in wine and enology and to the authorship of Servicio de vinos, a teaching work published by Ideaspropias Editorial. In this new book, José Ángel de la Riva unveils the technical processes of the service, preparation and presentation of drinks other than wine in the bar and cafeteria.
